Real Mallorca midfielder Finidi George says he's bemused over the link with Town. The Nigerian says he knows nothing of the proposed move and that he wouldn't accept an offer from Town if one was forthcoming.

The midfielder was speaking in the wake of George Burley's confirmation that negotiations were on-going to bring Finidi to Portman Road. The former Ajax and Real Betis player said: "I have no news about Ipswich. I feel fine in the Spanish League and my agent has said nothing about any offer. I am sure the Mallorca president Mateo Alemany will say something to me about this, because there are two sides to every story. But it has to be a more important offer for me to leave Mallorca anyhow."

The 30-year-old is contracted to Mallorca for three years. A fee of £4 million had been agreed with Mallorca.

Earlier today reports suggested that George Burley had another target lined-up if the Finidi deal failed to go through. Perhaps it is time for George to turn his attentions in whatever direction that is.
