Town Back in White
Town Back in White
Wednesday, 23rd Dec 2009 14:22

Town will wear a special white kit at Crystal Palace on Boxing Day (KO 1pm). Both the blue home shirt and the red away one clash with the Eagles' red and blue stripes.

The Blues will also wear the third kit for the game at Scunthorpe when it is rearranged and are also likely to use it again next season.

The club are not making the white shirt available for purchase.

Standard marketting, to make sure our away kit always clashes with either Palace or Qpr so they have an excuse to sell a 3rd kit. Genious!

They could play in budgie yellow for all I care, just as long as they stuff Palace. I hate Warnock and his dodgy looking Chairman.

I would buy this kit if it went on general sale

I never understand why they don't make the 3rd shirt availble for sale. I know they will probably auction them off and that will drive the price by like £2 at auction, but that shirt would sell. I prefer it to the red one and a third shirt sale, whether you agree with it or not, will bring in extra (needed) revenue.

It is a nice shirt - maybe they will release it as our next away shirt at the end of this season?

This is stupid, why would you NOT want to sell a rare shirt? I thought Evans knew business? Someone call and tell him how well the original white ones did on sale after this game in 2003-04. The black one was so popular, people flooded to get them at the store, if we are so desperate to help Marcus with costs why not? Not going to make a massive difference but it helps.

they might not spot our strikers creeping up on them if there is still snow on the pitch!

Dunno why we're not using the black shirt again. I thought that was nice. Or are we trying camouflage against the snow?

its called marketing.. generate enough interest by saying "its not for sale" and then when you release it it will sel twice as many! Simples!

Can you even begin to imagine getting the mud out of that in the wash?

jamie22 added 17:45 - Dec 23
Will we need it next year?
Won't we be getting a new one because this is the second year of it isn't it?
But anyway I will buy this if they came on sale which they probably will eventually!

Brockleyblueboy, I feel what you are saying but I am unable to comprehend your washing naivety. With the big brands now encouraging consumers to 'go eco' and wash clothing at 30 degrees, I feel that the shirts success would struggle, especially with the dullness which appears on whites after a short amount of time.

If you are still struggling with this, ask your mum, she will appreciate what I am trying to say.
