Lisbie Nets For U's
Lisbie Nets For U's
Saturday, 5th Dec 2009 22:06

Kevin Lisbie netted for loan club Colchester as the U’s beat Bristol Rovers 1-0 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. Pim Balkestein was also in action with his loan club on Saturday.

Lisbie, who Town will recall early from his season-long loan in January, lashed in his 10th goal of the season in the 30th minute.

Balkestein made his fourth appearance for Brentford as the Bees lost 1-0 away at Tranmere.

Jack Ainsley was an unused sub for Rushden and Diamonds as the Blue Square Premier side lost 1-0 at Forest Green Rovers. The defender made his debut for the Northamptonshire side on Tuesday as a half-time sub in a 1-0 home defeat to York City.

There is our 20+ goals a season striker - shame he is scoring them all in league one for Colchester!

This is one of those cases where it would be in everybody's best interests to make this a permanent move. Colchester can scrape together some cash (particularly if we are still paying them instalments) and pay a small fee for him. £250k with a extras for promotion, sell ons etc would probably be reasonable, perhaps a bit more if he goes somewhere else higher up the league. Maybe best used in a player exchange?

People need to realise that Lisbie is scoring in the THIRD tier of English football. He was dreadful for us last season - a truely awful JM signing. A panic buy really. Not good enough, yet I wish him all the best at Colchester and hope he leaves us permanently in January.

Division One a million miles apart from the Championship. Lisbie back please no -the laziest player we have ever signed. Be lucky to get £100K for him but please get rid to save massive salary.

he did score 17 goals for colchester when they went down, lets not forget that 11 of those 17 were penalties......he was never going to be a 20+ goal scorer for us and i dont think Rhodes wouldve been either, he never looked like he was going to score in the games he did come on, and at the end of the day he couldve have turned the move to Huddersfield down he didnt he's gone lets stop harping on about it.....
