Keane: Duo Have Hunger and Commitment
Keane: Duo Have Hunger and Commitment
Tuesday, 1st Sep 2009 19:24

Boss Roy Keane says the willingness of Carlos Edwards and Grant Leadbitter to drop down a division shows their hunger for the challenge which awaits them at Portman Road. The duo signed in a joint deal worth almost £4 million earlier this afternoon.

Keane told the club site: "I worked with both players at Sunderland and know what they are all about.

"They have dropped down from the Premier League to join us. That shows a hunger and commitment to play football for Ipswich Town and I'm delighted to have them here.

"They have played in the Championship, know what's needed to get out of this division and they will add qualities that we need at this football club."

We'll see completely different levels of performance from those who haven't replicated previous form e.g. McAuley, Garvan, Stead, Priskin and Walters who hasn't been anywhere near his 2007/08 best. Leadbitter & Edwards are exactly what we have been missing.

Rosinor & D Wright swaping clubs on loan for rest of season according to Berkshire based newspaper! Won't read into this to much as we all know the trouble these journos can cause.

Better feed them up if they're hungry, no one likes an empty stomach.

Just the sort of players we've been waiting for. Some real quality. Good to get a bit of positivity again after a poor start.
