Town's reserves went goal crazy against Clacton at the Rush Green Bowl on Wednesday evening. Shane O'Connor scored twice, while Jaime Peters, Ed Upson, Kevin Lisbie, Reggie Lambe and David Cawley netted once each

The home side, with a more attacking approach than other local sides the Blues have met this pre-season, went in front via a Tom Eastman own goal in the second minute, but four minutes later Shane O'Connor, who is set to sign a one-year deal with the Blues, equalised.

Jaime Peters, back from international duty with Canada, put Town in front, then Ed Upson netted a penalty to add to the Blues' lead.

Kevin Lisbie made it 4-1 on 32, then Reggie Lambe scored Town's fifth three minutes later.

O'Connor added his second with five minutes of the first half remaining to make it 6-1 at half-time.

The second half could hardly match the first and there were only two more goals, David Cawley netting for the Blues as the game ended 7-2.

Manager Roy Keane watched the first half but left at the break.

Reserves: McLoughlin, Ainsley, Dunbar (Griffiths 73), Cawley (Burke 46), Brown, Eastman (McKeown 71), Peters (Hyam 63), Upson (Meekings 71), Lisbie (Murray 46), O'Connor (Carson 71), Lambe. Unused: Grace.
