Offer for Pablo and Not Lisbie?
Offer for Pablo and Not Lisbie?

TWTD understands that Kevin Lisbie is not the striker for whom the Blues have received a bid, as revealed by boss Roy Keane after last night's win at Southend. The former Colchester and Charlton man appeared the obvious candidate having been left out of the squad at Roots Hall.

Instead it appears that one of the Blues' other frontmen is the man interesting an unnamed club.

Aside from Lisbie, Spaniard Pablo Couñago looks to be the current striker most likely to be on his way and is amongst four players who we understand have been told they can leave the club this summer. Lisbie, despite not being the man involved in the current deal, left-back Ben Thatcher and midfielder Alan Quinn are the other three.

Over the weekend, Swansea sources were linking Couñago with a move to the Liberty Stadium, while the Portman Road favourite could also be interesting former boss and team-mate Jim Magilton at QPR. Magilton brought the 29-year-old back to Town in 2007 after two years with Málaga back in Spain.

Couñago has been ruled out of this evening's friendly at Clacton with Lisbie expected to be in the side.

Manager Roy Keane says the Blues have received no offers for Quinn, despite reports to the contrary and Barnsley boss Simon Davey confirming yesterday that he had spoken to the Irish midfielder's agent.

Keane is set to make another addition to his squad later today with Cork midfielder Colin Healy expected to sign. The Blues boss says he moved for his former Republic of Ireland team-mate after the performance at Cork on Sunday: "After the game I took stock and thought about what I need. I know he is a very good character and he will add a bit more steel to the spine of our team.

"I have played against him a few times and know what he can do. He has played 20 or so games this season so he will be ready to come straight in and I look forward to him coming in.”

Keane says the Blues will be taking their interest in former West Brom man Carl Hoefkens no further, the Belgian international having been on a short trial at Playford Road earlier in the summer.
