Liam Trotter has rejoined the Blues at the end of his three-month loan with Grimsby, but Town's other on-loan players still have a few more days before their spells are up on December 31st and were in action today.

Trotter has indicated that he might be interested in joining the Mariners permanently in the transfer window if his chances at Town continue to be limited. The midfielder is one of the 14 players out of contract at the end of the season.

Elsewhere today, Billy Clarke and Darlington drew 2-2 at Bury, former Blue Ian Miller getting on the scoresheet, but the Irish frontman continuing his lean spell in front of goal.

Dean Bowditch and Brentford won 2-0 at home to Bournemouth, while Matt Richards's Brighton lost 2-1 at home to Colchester.

Dan Harding missed Southend's 1-0 victory over Northampton as he was suspended after reaching five bookings. Young full-back Kurt Robinson was left out by the Cobblers and is still to make an appearance for his loan side.

Chris Casement's Hamilton weren't in action today, but the defender hasn't featured for their first team since October and the SPL strugglers have already said they don't intend to keep the Northern Irish U21 international beyond his current spell.
