Crewe Deny Maynard Bid as Fulham Linked Tuesday, 8th Jul 2008 21:35 Crewe Alexandra assistant manager Neil Baker has confirmed that Town have made an enquiry regarding striker Nicky Maynard but says there has been no bid. On Friday, the Blues and Bristol City were claimed to have made offers for the £2 million-rated frontman. Baker says Town registered their interest in the 21-year-old along with another club, now believed to be Fulham: "Ipswich made an enquiry and that was it, while we have also had a second enquiry. "But Nicky is in Bulgaria [on a pre-season tour] with us and we're planning to partner him with Calvin Zola against Brighton [on the first day of the season]." Previously, Hull City, Middlesbrough, Blackburn, Bolton, Sunderland and West Brom have all been linked with the Winsford-born striker.
