Boss Jim Magilton will be at the FA's headquarters in Soho Square today for his personal hearing regarding the charge of using abusive and/or insulting words towards referee Colin Webster after the recent 2-2 draw at Burnley, a breach of FA rule E3.

Magilton is not denying the charge but said recently that he wants to give his side of the story: "I am not appealing against the charge but want to present to the panel the reasons surrounding it.

"I think it's important that I state my case. Then we will see what the panel decides and I will accept their verdict."

Webster disallowed Pablo Couñago's late goal at Turf Moor which would have given the Blues their first away win of the season. Magilton spoke to the Tyne and Wear-based official in his dressing room after the game, a meeting which led to the charge.

Last season, the Town boss was given a two-match touchline ban and fined £500 for a similar offence after being sent to the stands by referee Mark Clattenburg at Preston North End.

Meanwhile, former Blues boss Joe Royle is looking less likely to get the Wigan manager's job with the Latics keen to talk to Birmingham boss Steve Bruce, father of Town defender Alex.

Elsewhere, ex-Blue Georges Santos is on trial at Lincoln having been released by Chesterfield earlier in the month.
