Ipswich Town Ist, the Town supporters' Trust, is writing to the club, Hull City and the football authorities to complain about the late move of next week's game at the KC Stadium to a 12.30pm kick-off and request that the match be moved for a second time to a 1pm start.

The 12.30pm switch, caused by a rugby league play-off at the KC Stadium later that evening, means many Town supporters have purchased train tickets which will now get them to the game after kick-off.

Trust chairman Carl Day says his organisation has been contacted by several of their members regarding the move, which was confirmed on Saturday night, less than seven days before the match: "Surely Hull City would have known about the possibility of the rugby play-off well in advance of last Friday when it was first mooted and ought to have informed Town when they sent the club the away end tickets.

"We hope that Town have protested to Hull and the football authorities regarding the move in the strongest possible terms on behalf of their supporters.

"The late change means a significant number of fans have already booked train tickets which will now get them to the ground well after the game has kicked off.

“It is clear that there was no thought given to the timing of the kick-off as many travelling Town supporters will be on a train scheduled to arrive at Hull Station at 12.20pm, too late to make the 12.30pm start.

“A move to 1pm would give those travelling fans time to make the game and we ask, in order to reduce the number of supporters arriving after kick-off, that the match be moved back half an hour. Alternatively, we will ask Hull City if they have any plans to compensate fans who will suffer financially from the late switch.

"It is unacceptable for clubs like Hull to behave in a manner which shows absolutely no concern for supporters and we will be writing to both clubs, the FA and the Football League to protest at the exceptionally poor handling of the matter."
