Knights Trial Extended?
Knights Trial Extended?

Yeovil Town are talking to the Blues about extending Darryl Knights's trial spell at Huish Park. Knights has been with the Glovers for a fortnight and has played in two reserve games, scoring in one and winning a penalty in the other.

Boss Russell Slade has been impressed with the 18-year-old and wants to take a closer look at him before offering a loan deal with the League One club.

Released defender Luke Webster is also on trial with the Somerset club, while Martin Brittain is on loan there until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Town boss Jim Magilton also has money available to bring in loan players if he decides they are required during the remaining games of a season which looks to be dead, the FA Cup run aside.

Magilton could instead keep his cash for the summer and next season's assault on the Championship.

The Blues manager may give one or two of the younger members of his squad games as the season progresses, while the likes of Liam Trotter could join Knights in becoming loan targets of lower division clubs.
