No Second Appeal
No Second Appeal
Friday, 16th Feb 2001 12:53

Reports this afternoon are now claiming that there will be no second appeal against Marcus Stewart's sending off. This morning stories suggested that the FA were to allow Town another attempt to overturn the ban, but this now seems not to be the case.

An FA spokesperson is quoted as saying: "There is no provision in the rules for a second appeal. There is nothing in the rulebook to suggest that it can go any further."

Sheepshanks had said earlier: "I have personally spoken to the FA to explain to them how very strongly we feel about the situation. They have agreed to give the matter further consideration. We hope to hear the outcome shortly and, as soon as we know we will make a full statement."

Does the FA have a clue what it is doing?
