South Stand News Friday, 16th Feb 2001 11:00 The work on the South Stand continues apace with the roof work now well in progress. The club say that "structural steel and purlins now forming a lattice effect across the whole roof of the new stand." whatever that means (any builders out there able to give more info on what purlins are?). Sheeting is being placed across the lattice-work. This sheeting is transluscent and will not adversely affect the pitch. The old roof will be entirely gone by the Everton game on February 24th and no seats will be affected by the work. Site Manager Stephen Christian said: ""Despite the difficult weather conditions, construction of the new stand is still running to programme and no spectator seating will be affected for the remaining home fixtures." Today's Do You Remember? is former central defender now head of Wrexham's Acedemy Tony Humes. What do you recollect of the injury-prone one's Town career?
