Wigan on Pollitt Move
Wigan on Pollitt Move

Wigan boss Paul Jewell says that Mike Pollitt's loan move to Town does not mean his Wigan career is over. The Latics have allowed the 34-year-old to move to Portman Road for a month but have a 24-hour recall should they require him to return to the JJB.

Jewell said: "Polly has been a fantastic servant to Wigan in his year-and-a-bit with us, but I have the luxury of having three great goalkeepers at this club.

"At the moment, Chris Kirkland has the number one jersey, but I think it's important for the goalkeepers to get games."

Wigan expect Pollitt to make his Town debut in Sunday's East Anglian derby with Norwich City, suggesting that Shane Supple might not recover from his groin injury in time to face the Canaries.
