There's various references to 'not wanting to talk further' on certain aspects, and I think that could be out of respect for Lambert. We know Evans sounded Cook (and others) out long before Lambert got the boot. And the consortium have been in discussion with Marcus for 14 months. I'd imagine a possibility of huge investment coming in would be a great way to sell a club to a prospective manager - a manager who, let's not forget, turned down bigger clubs in a higher division and waited. I wouldn't mind betting Cook knew about the chance of a takeover before anyone else. | |
