The True Value of Downes 20:23 - Sep 13 with 1029 viewsHeadWestBlue

This afternoon Sky Sports reported a passage of play which stated that Wigan had achieved a 79% possession rate for a specific passage of play. As good as the midfield may have been going forward and in possession I believe that Flynn Downes is the player with the grit and determination to ruffle a few feathers and prevent teams from enjoying 78% possession. If Wigan can enjoy 78% possession other teams must fancy themselves in a game of keep ball at Portman Road. Happy with the result, bigger tests still to come.

What was that passage of play?

Possession overall was pretty even.

Suspect we had similar periods.

Poll: Would Lambert have acheived better results than Cook if given the same resources

A 10 min spell in the second half, probably 65-75

I believe it was the first 20 - 25 mins of the second half.

They didn't cause any damage with that possession or get a shot on target all game.

Wouldn't read too much into a short spell.
