In fairness to Lambert... 16:02 - Feb 14 with 1049 viewsjasondozzell

We don't have a divine right to win the league, do we? He's right that clubs like Leeds Utd, Sheff Utd etc have struggled at this level. This season has been disappointing so far but there have been some good things - his recruitment has been good and we've played well in patches. First half against Sunderland at home was excellent. And he's not had money really. He obviously pushed Evans to stump up the money for KVY and we know how good he's been, but otherwise nothing. Look at rivals Peterborough - they've spent more and invested in Jan unlike us.

The caveat to that is of course that we've been on a terrible run, don't look like creating chances and played poorly for long stretches since October. Plus the rotation shambles.

I don't think divine right is the right.

But with the resources that Paul Lambert has, it is scandalous that over the last 15 games we are 20th in the form guide. 20 days ago we were top of the league.

Divine right, absolutely not, but with the resources he has at his disposal, he is doing a fantastic job of c*cking this up.

Agreed - and prob why he was so touchy about the wage bill question in today's presser...Squad should be good enough to win this league.

No - we don't have a divine right. More to the point, our players aren't good enough.

Watch the video on the home page. I think you will have a different opinion of the tool then.

And other similarly resourced teams are not c*cking this up (P'Boro, Rotherham, Sunderland, Pompey).

But Lambert does what Lambert does in his press conferences, he lays the seeds for future excuses when things don't go to plan.

Under Evans and Lambert, are we closer to Leeds United and Sheffield United, or are we closer to Coventry City, Bradford City, Oxford United, Swindon Town, and Oldham Athletic?

To be fair it took until Hurst was sacked for you to accept him as a bad appointment so I'm sure Lambert has a few more weeks before you turn on him.

We have to earn the right. Problem is we clearly aren't at the moment.

It’s halfway through February and you’re pointing out we played well for half a game in August? I’ve seen stronger arguments, to be fair.
