The only trouble with watching programmes like this is that you end up googling to see what they are doing now. Unfortunately I read that Lillian Lopez, the lady with the beautiful voice in Odyssey, ended up in England and died in Basingstoke after suffering the big C. Most of tonight's artists are now in their seventies. Scary stuff.

I used to work with someone who once got on the studio audience for an episode of 'Wogan' where Johnny Mathis was a guest. Only thing the bloke said about his day out at the BBC was, and I am going to have to explain this to avoid a Danny Baker moment, that Johnny Mathis had really bad skin. OK, when people go on TV they have a lot of slap put on them because the silver screen shows up everything and what he meant was that on the big monitors before the make up went on Johnny Mathis has a mass of pock marks and blemishes. Not that rare and a real difficulty for many people to live with. In fact Benjamin Zephaniah wrote a book called 'Face' to compare the difficulties that a boy with facial disfigurement goes through with those of black people in predominantly white communities. Hope this doesn't put your Mum off Mathis, he did have a wonderful voice and seemed a warm personality. edit: Actually he did say another thing about his day out, Terry Wogan only came to life when the cameras were on him, otherwise he seemed slumped in his seat. There, I have had a good start to the day, slagging off dead celebrities - and I don't even read The Daily Mail. [Post edited 11 May 2019 9:01]

I have seen a Sweet tribute band a few times at Rock & Bike festival. Very entertaining & brought the house down both times. The very lovely Kate Bush was my late teenage crush. Some cracking tracks there.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Was St Matthews baths where they used to put a floor over the pool? I’m sure my mate from work said he saw Thin Lizzie there.

I imagine not doing so would have resulted in soggy gigs.

Yep, hence the 'In At The Deep End' bootleg of the Led Zeppelin concert. Don't recall Thin Lizzy playing the Baths though but they did play The Manor Ballroom and The Gaumont.
