It was, I think, partly the celebration of Christmas, but also the desire to entertain over the holiday period.

Blackburn fans must have been a tad miffed how the team they stuffed 8-2 away from home, managed to turn them over 3-1 on their own turf.

Just imagine if some of those fixtures were two legged cup-ties. Some classics there.
