On paper a back line of Bialkowski, Spence, Knudsen, Chambers and Pennington with Skuse sitting in front should be good enough to survive at this level. Little more than that but enough to survive.

I can see why Hurst felt the backline needed the least amount of work considering it’s relative strength - in comparison to now - throughout previous seasons. Strengthening in numbers but considering past years, it looked like we should be ok.
Thinking about it, what was overlooked is Bart was Player of the Season time and again during those seasons; now he has lost form perhaps our back line is being shown up for what it is; leaking too many chances to quality players. | |
