Classic Ipswich Town team 09:55 - Oct 6 with 2805 views | Fernando | Hey guys, I'm looking to release an all time Ipswich Town squad for the new PES, it will be free but want to make it as accurate as possible. Was hoping to get some help on what your personal starting XI would be or who should be in/out of the squad. Also I'm sure a lot of the ratings and positions below are way off, for scale peak Pele/Maradona/Messi would be around 95, and the best EPL players of today would be about 88/89. At the moment I'm probably a bit light on for wingers. Appreciate thoughts from anyone, thanks :) GK Cooper 82 GK Bailey 80 CB Beattie 85 CB Butcher 84 CB Osman 82 CB Hunter 81 RB Burley 80 RB Carberry 80 LB Mills 81 DM Baxter 80 DM Wark 83 CM McCall 81 CM Holland 81 CM Talbot 81 CM Thijssen 82 AM Muhren 82 RM Dyer 80 LW Leadbetter 81 CF Whymark 82 CF Brazil 82 CF Phillips 83 CF Crawford 84 CF Mariner 83

Leadbetter, not Leadbitter. But you knew that, right?

Classic Ipswich Town team on 10:42 - Oct 6 with 2685 views | connorscontract | For scale, John Wark scored 36 goals in a season from Central Midfield, in a midfield 3 where one of the other midfielders didn't tackle, and the other one was a bit clumsy in the tackle. So think early Mourinho Chelsea, with Wark having to play both Lampard's and Makelele's roles, and still scoring more goals than Frank. He's got to be in the 90s. And Town fans slightly older than me will tell you that Beattie was better than him.

Wark could be in the 90s in 3 or 4 positions | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Nah, modders usually just do it for the hell of it.

Classic Ipswich Town team on 10:46 - Oct 6 with 2669 views | brazil1982 | I'd say Crawford should be the highest rating forward. Beattie 89 Not so sure Brazil, McCall, Holland, Dyer should be that high. Good luck!
Classic Ipswich Town team on 11:02 - Oct 6 with 2636 views | kpblues | I'd say pretty spot on Fernando apart from Mccall & Dyer who for me were solid but not spectacular. Maybe worth considering the original David Johnson who was a class act and a lot to do with Bobby Robson's early success. Good to see the under rated Trevor Whymark in there but might worth considering another under rated player in Bryan Hamilton as well. Good luck though !

Classic Ipswich Town team on 11:14 - Oct 6 with 2614 views | Dennyx4 | My opinion for what its worth Wark & Muhren should be more highly rated Mccall & Holland a little lower than stated It would also be good to add Marcus Stewart as a striker and Jason Dozzell as a CM.
Classic Ipswich Town team on 11:21 - Oct 6 with 2604 views | Binner | Wark and Beattie should be in the low 90s Thijssen and Muhren about 90. Most of these players were among the best of their day and battling for major honours over several years so should be in the high 80s according to your 'scale' (including Eric Gates whom you have completely missed out) McCall was very good but not quite up to the standard of the rest of the list.

I only saw Wark from the 2nd coming onwards but even based on that would say he should be late 80s

Classic Ipswich Town team on 13:46 - Oct 6 with 2371 views | BeattiesBeerGut | I can't have Grant Leadbetter. Marcus Stewart was by far and away our best player in the last 20 years and should be in there. Taricco might squeak in as well.
Classic Ipswich Town team on 13:47 - Oct 6 with 2369 views | Fernando | Brilliant, thanks everyone, strong chance to include most of the suggested players and tweaks. Definitely keen to capture Wark's unique role and his timing of runs into the box etc. Can anyone confirm what should be the main position for Muhren and Thijssen, CM or otherwise?
Classic Ipswich Town team on 14:25 - Oct 6 with 2300 views | No9 | I feel sure if they were playing today, the Beat, Warkie & the Dutch duo would be in the 90's.

Muhren was LM. Thijssen was RM with John Work as CM and Eric Gates as CAM

It's not Grant Leadbitter ya numpty. It is Jimmy Leadbetter; one of our best ever players and spelt differently. He should be at least mid to high 80s compared to others on the list.
