Boring but true...
My wife & I had come to the conclusion that we needed a new mattress, as each side had indentations that fit our shapes and in between is an Andean ridge separating us. Plus the bed had been scratched by the cat and one of the drawers underneath had fallen apart. This bed was just over 10 years old [the mattress 3 years old].
Had spent the last few days in Ipswich clearing out my father's house ready to sell, so decided to take his bed... which is 37 years old and in excellent condition. It shows age by being discoloured [step mum was a smoker]... by I guess Drew Pritchard would call that "patination". Better than that it had a modular design which meant I could fit it in my saloon car [rear seats dropped]... albeit it with multiple packing / unpacking and repacking like some 3d game of Tetris.
Having just Googled it seems like this bed is a collectible
Oh, and for the record. Best night's sleep in a LONG time last night, that Andean ridge has disappeared... so good a night's sleep I overslept this morning. Luckily when I work a late shift my start time is flexible. |  |
