I never saw him in there but when Free split in 1971 (?) he formed a band called Peace who did the band that lives together thing somewhere on the Shotley Peninsula and he came into town just a few times. My mate Dave was in the Swan with his girlfriend one night when Paul Rogers came in, girlfriend's attention was somewhat diverted and they came back to the house not speaking to each other. | |

I think he was just quiet, and he was more of a blues singer back then which does involve a degree of expression of misery. As for Dave, he could outgrump anyone alive when the mood took him. But sometimes he had good reason, last time I saw him was about 1977, in The Swan, homeless and recently beaten up in the back of a bus by two coppers he went to school with. | |
