I'm always amazed at how many sons and daughters of politicians, actors, performers etc are just as good as their parents in their vocational skills! Or is it just another of those myths we are fed ?

"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

Once given an opportunity people generally succeed or fail on their own merits. In many of those fields being the 'son of' is more of a hindrance than a help (see Jordi Cruyff).

Fairness of opportunity is clearly an issue.....but it arguably also shows what is possible if anyone focuses on something enough.

Jordi Cruyff did alright imo.

Paul Dalglish would've been a better example.
