The defending at the end 17:51 - Mar 9 with 963 viewsJoey_Joe_Joe_Junior

Don’t want to call out individuals particularly just more curious of trying to understand who is not doing their job. I know we talk about zonal and man for man etc and we play a mix of the two.

I’m curious what Clarke is doing for both goals though. The first one, does he have a man at all? The guy is just in between him and Hutchinson for the knockdown with no challenge at all. Maybe Hutchinson should make making more of an effort to get at least on the inside of their player to make it more difficult header but he’s not who you want defending the back post. That was after we booted it back to them to recycle instead of trying to waste a more seconds and obviously we had a chance to clear it after said header.

For the winner looks like he should be attacking the ball to me?

I love what he gives us going forward but in these kind of slow build away games I’m probably starting Axel for a little extra composure.

Not watch goal 1 back, but from memory…

- but the cross comes in unchallenged (Davis?)
- Unchallenged header at back post (clarke?)
- doesn’t get cleared in box (burgess/Wolf?)
- not closed down quickly (Anyone near him)

Goal 2…

- should Davis be booting that away and being stronger?
- defending on first and second header
- clarke not attacking the ball back across

To conclude… shtshow in defence

We’ll be good again... one day

First one was Burgess with the header clear. Or not as the case may be.

A bit of a disaster really never seen us so deep. The couple times we did break we picked the wrong ball, Leif went to Hutchinson instead of Ali and keeper collected (that was at 1-0) then harness at 1-1 tried to go central when Hutchinson was in out wide. In about the 97th minute Wolfy just clipped it back into their midfield. As soon as it was a corner in the 99th I could have told you the final score there and then!

Just watched the goals back and I think I’d be hard pushed to single out a significant costly error to assign as the cause, especially for the first one.

There’s definitely lessons to be learnt from today, but I’m confident that this group will know that and make sure they do learn from it. We were bound to be on the wrong side of one of these games sooner rather than later.

I’m absolutely gutted we didn’t win today and capitalise on Leicester dropping points again. A consolation is that I know the players will be equally as gutted too and they have it in their lockers too bounce back stronger. We may have just seen our final loss of the season.

Burgess basically passed it to their guy who tucked it away

Wednesday will play exactly the same so we have been warned

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
