If you read Melody Maker in the early to mid 90s you'll remember his brilliant, incendiary and opinionated writing. The sort of writer who, even if you didn't agree with him, you could get behind because of his sheer passion for his subject.
No age, 51 (same as myself). The name vaguely rings a bell, but would've read his stuff at the time as I poured over the Melody Maker and NME. Enjoyed this article, then veered off to this brilliant put down of The Stone Roses. I still love that album despite what he says, but it's a hilarious review nonetheless;
