‘We are raffling a signed ITFC home shirt to raise funds for our campaign towards Ellie's cancer treatment. In December 2021 Electra (Ellie) was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable ‘inoperable’ bowel cancer, which came as a terrible blow to her little family, her 4 beautiful children (aged 2-6 years) who don’t even know what the word cancer means.

Just days before Christmas 2021 she was given her first chemotherapy treatment. After the first few rounds she was told she'd had an excellent response and the primary tumour as well as surrounding lymph nodes had shrunk. The plan was to keep it shrinking to maybe get her to operable. Fast forward the absolute worst year of her life and she was given surgery to remove as much cancer as possible.

After 12 hours of surgery that included a bowel resection, lymph node clearance, and a full hysterectomy, Ellie was out the other side and scans showed no evidence of disease. Sadly though during the surgery, damage was done to the nerves in her left foot, leaving her disabled and unable to walk without an aid.

Further to this, she received more devastating news, that 34 out of 39 of lymph nodes removed were cancerous. This meant that the cancer would return. And in the biggest blow possible it has, it’s returned worse than ever with spread in further lymph nodes and several spots on her liver.
Now the only type of treatment available to Ellie on the NHS is chemotherapy, and that chemotherapy will one day stop working.

Luckily we aren’t there yet, where we are though, hopefully, with your support is Japan. Japan are the world leaders on all things bowel cancer, so this means all things bowel cancer treatment, namely immunotherapy treatment. Immunotherapy is the future of cancer treatment, the uk though, sadly are years behind, and Ellie does not have years to wait. Immunotherapy however still isn’t a complete cure, but it is the best chance she has for as long as possible with her children.

Ellie refuses to die, she simply can’t, her babies are too young and too precious for her to leave them.

With your help, and your support, you can make a difference. Any donations made will count towards Ellies treatment and allow her children a better chance of more time with their Mummy.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.’
