The “he is not for sale” talk speak volumes and I think there’s probably something in this.
I’m wondering whether MacAnthony would see the sale of both for a decent fee as funds for a serious promotion push next season.
They’re certainly not beyond play off contenders now but the lure of the journey we’re undoubtedly on may appeal to the Two players also. |  | | |

That’s a ridiculous first statement to be honest. We were quite clearly given encouragement from either Hirst himself or his agent that he would be prepared to join us whether that would be a loan or permanent deal. You don’t chase/track someone for that long without having that. | |

It was neither obvious or a wild goose chase. Leicester were really unsure whether to sell or offer a new deal and there was 'to and fro' all summer. In the end he only signed the new deal on 31 August. | | | |
