Ched Evans accepts near £1m settlement from lawyers who represented him in original rape trial.Small consolation for having his career ruined and freedom stolen for two and a half years.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Probably not the nicest of people, and at the time quite morally bankrupt, but that doesn’t mean that he deserved to be sent to prison.

That might work.

If we could sue our strikers for too many misses in front of goal.

Say 10 glaring misses in a row and they face prison or something.

Bit of incentive right there.

That sort of treatment is saved for referees.

Footballers can make as many mistakes as they like in a match.

Not really as they’ll be dropped and put on the transfer list if they keep making mistakes.

Whatever your feelings are about the case, I struggle to sympathise with someone who did what he did.

Yes, was a bit wasn't it . Many apologies if too much. Bad case allround that was. A very unsavoury way of carrying on even if he was acquitted on retrial.

Got off on an unprecedented technicality. While I've got little sympathy for lawyers, the fact he can and has sued them says it all about the bloke.

It's been done to death on here, but if you can look at the case, both trials and feel anything but disgust towards him you're wired differently to me.

This is a great example of the grip and power football has over our society being a negative influence. Whatever happened to the scumbags who went to court for harassing and revealing the identity of his victim?

I think some got charged by the police but unsure on what punishment they ultimately faced.

If he genuinely believes himself to be innocent, whilst holding grudges against his lawyers, than I’m not surprised he sued them.

I’m not defending him just trying to understand why he did sue.

Well yes, but given his Mrs stayed with him and used the combined wealth of their families in the ways reported, it's not a surprise just testament to his greed and front.
