Then that gives us a week before the season starts, 10 days or so if the deadline to replace Waghorn and add another into the squad. If Waghorn bid has been accepted we need to be upping offers to Blackpool and Scunthorpe. Two good players clearly identified, we’ve held our ground and offered what we believe is fair. Now is the time to bite the bullet. Riskier losing out than paying a few hundred grand over our valuation. |  |

No. I’m advocating that we will potentially lose more money through gates if we go into the season without these players due to the holes in the squad. I’m not saying pay £2m for Tilt. I’m saying pay £1m instead of £800k because if we don’t we are in bigger trouble. There are times you can pay a small amount above your valuation. Not massively. But enough to get it done. | |

Presumably to bring them both in it means Knudsen has to leave before then. We could loan kenlock but I can't see Jonas being 2nd choice and why would Townsend come here as 2nd choice for a transfer fee? If we are paying big money for tilt he would be ahead of Jonas as CH |  |

Clearly Hurst has a logic to signing him, hence having an offer turned down. He either doesn't rate Kenlock or Knudsen, and either will be sold, or he views Knudsen as a centre back with Townsend coming in as competition for Kenlock. [Post edited 25 Jul 2018 11:13]

It's an odd one for me. I don't buy that he sees Knudsen as a CB, he had the perfect opportunity to give him a go there last night and he didn't which suggests he sees him as a left back primarily. If he doesn't rate Kenlock that's understandable but nobody is likely to want to buy him and he's fine as back up so it'd seem odd to spend a chunk of our limited budget to replace a back up left back. The only real option is that he plans to move Jonas on, which I'm not too sure about personally. | |

judging from clips then one can take free kicks and corners and IF waghorn goes it was more his delivery that will be missed rather than his goals which although were good they are replaceable.
Dead ball specialist harder to replace especially if you have one built in with a clever goalscorer. Knudsen dead ball delivery doesn't look great, kenlock I don't know what his delivery is lile? | | | |
