Surely that story is complete BS, Gary Bowyer demanding seven figure sum will surely price us out, even if it were a 6-figure sum it would be a high one. Considering we paid high 6 figure for both Garner & Waghorn, and low 6-figure for Huws, can't imagine Evans seeing this as a value for money investment.
