….I’ve had to give it a miss this year, again! Got the squits. Good luck to all that are taking part, though. See you all next year.

….to be honest, I probably wasn’t quite ready this year. Annoyingly I’d bought myself a new pair of Gazelles for the race too!

G'luck in the London Marathon today MK1! on 18:48 - Apr 22 with 280 views | MK1 | Thanks Ryorry. Sorry to report that I only made it to just over 8 miles before I seriously cramped up. I was advised by the excellent medical support team not to continue. I did all the normal warm up, but something was obviously not right. In training I was doing 12 miles twice a week and 15 miles every other week no problem. Thought I was in good shape. Been in absolute agony since. It has started to ease now, but my brain is obviously younger than the rest of my body. My marathon days are over now. Thanks again for the message though mate.

No need to be sorry. You gave it your best shot. Well done. More important, you were right to take medical advice and call it a day when you did.

Aw,so sorry, how frustrating must that be for you - bloody bodies, always letting our brains down! As Churchy says tho, you did the right thing, no point in causing yourself long-term damage.
