Do loan signings also undergo medicals? 15:13 - Feb 1 with 701 viewsMalcolmBlue

Can’t remember ever hearing about a medical for a loan signing

And if not why not? Especially in instances where a player hasn’t had much game time in the last few seasons

Isn't the player B'mouth taking on-loan currently having a medical?

Yes but there’s a mandatory buy clause in the deal. I’m just asking about out and out loans

Yes the wages we will be paying will be more than a few bob.. plus possible loan fee. Medical defo required. Although possibly more basic as the registered club will have more insurances in place. He did play recently also I believe. I’m sure he would have been watched. I watched that game and whilst he clearly will be a goal threat at this level his work rate may need to improve. I reckon from McKenna it will be along the lines of… “give me 65-70 mins every game” then I’ll get the kid on.

Didn’t Shola Ameobi fail a medical here due to a hamstring issue after agreeing a loan deal, only to feature for Newcastle against Arsenal a week or two later?
