Always dreadful to see that. I can recall watching the Spurs v Bolton game in a pub where Fabrice Muamba collapsed and it was not looking promising for a long time.

I've seen a feed somewhere which suggests Vaessen was responsive on the way to hospital so that at least sounds promising.

They’re reporting a broken neck, which is horrific but hopefully not fatal
