Next most likely signings:
1. CB - Trusty has been linked and looks like a great option. 3 CB heading into the season is light. I think Burgess is the weaker of the 2 starters.
2. CF - goalscoring back up. I don't see us bringing in someone to displace Chaplin. I could see us bringing in TJJ or similar to come of the bench or start in contested weeks. Edwards would then move to the wing as an option.
3. RF - Jackson looks like the next weakest option across the forwards. Depends if we can find better than Burns this window. Can't imagine us just looking for equal or worse, unless it is a loan. Rak-Sakyi looks like a great shout if true.
4. LF - Would expect a loan here, but not one that displaces Broadhead. Harness could move on if we get someone better. Not sure he offers much at this level. Hopefully Edwards can continue to improve.
5. ST - would be surprised if another striker came in before a CB. Another striker would allow us to change shape if we wanted. Options 2-5 could easily change order.
Next most likely departures
Intended loans - The club has said they want to find loans for Baggott and Camara.
CM - 1 from Evans sold or Humphreys loan looks likely to me.
RF or LF - If someone comes in I wouldn't be surprised if Harness or Jackson moved on. [Post edited 13 Jul 2023 15:27]
