That footage is great quality. Assume it was remastered in some way.

I was at the home game, but don't remember it at all.
Great to see those players, and the kit which is my favourite of all time because of its simplicity.

I liked it because the colour was really royal blue and it had a badge on it (not all teams had that). When young I collected those panini style stickers and the Ipswich ones always stood out. The yellow and blue away kit was good too. Not the vomit yellow job of the mob up the road, but a proper yellow.

No sponsors on the shirts. Goalkeepers not wearing gloves. The surge of the crowd.

Yep, I forgot to mention the colour.
In those day, you bought the shirt separately and got your mum to sow on the badge.
I've long grown out of the shirts but I still have the badge. I think it was based on the Ipswich Borough Council logo, and I am not sure if the badge I have is official or identical to the badge the players had. But it is pretty much the same, and has Ipswich FC on it (which may well suggest it is not official).

I had the badge and my mum actually sewed it onto my scarf. That scarf went to the FA Cup Final with me.
Mrs C in later years lost the scarf. I have forgiven, just about, but never forgotten…..

Thank you for that. Had to laugh at the end of the first half when commentator Gerald Sinstadt is clearly heard to say “Ursula, would you see if I could have 40 seconds at half-time please?”

Indeed. My excuse & its a poor one, I had the David Hill in my head from the early 90s as I was typing the thread post
I thought David Hill was a typical John Duncan signing - a lower league midfield player who wasn't good enough for the 2nd tier. Granted, Town didn't have much money at the time, but the only one of his lower league signings who was good was David Lowe. Somewhat reminiscent of the Paul Hurst reign.
