Footballers who could have done so much more if not for injuries.. 10:01 - Dec 16 with 3076 views | OwainG1992 | Just saw this post on the Twitter and someone replied with Kevin Beattie. A non Ipswich one which came to mind for me and someone I'd have loved to have seen play for us in his prime is Matt Jansen from Blackburn. I would put Teddy Bishop on the list as I think he'd have pushed on so much more if not for all the injuries.

Bit of a misnomer around Anderton, he played the same amount of games as Roy Keane.

And to a lesser extent Michael Synott. A reserve right back from the 2000s. Reminded me of Gary Neville in terms of being good at attacking but could also defend. Unfortunately too many injuries.

Ronaldo (the original) is another one. Achieved great things but could've been so much more.

It's not about no of games though, same could be said about Owen. Whilst Anderton had a good career I really think he would have achieved more were it not for his injuries. They impacted on his ability to be the player he could have been.

Again, its not how many games. It's the impact an injury or injuries had on their ability and how good they could have been/what they might of achieved without them. How many games has Mcgoldrick played? How many did Michael Owen play? The number is irrelevant if the injures impact ability and what they could have done in the game had they not occurred IE won more, played at higher level etc.
