Left side was the difference yesterday 13:22 - Aug 21 with 1100 viewsDarth_Koont

Certainly compared to performances last year.

Last year, with Burns out or not at it, we'd generally struggle to have a threat. Yesterday all our goals came from the left side getting involved (Davis, Harness and/or Burgess).

Not sure we had a single game last year when the left side helped out as much. Or was a better, more effective unit than the right. But it makes such a difference to our chances when that can happen.

By the way, thought KVY was fine. He did some good stuff and should have had a goal/won a penalty too. Probably JD who was the most out of sorts and why the right hand side looked a little uncomfortable.

I’d agree with that entirely, & to now have the left sided options is a massive bonus as both new boys appear solid, Harness making Celina a fleeting memory.
Our recruiting has paid for it’s self already!

Last season teams knew if they could shut us down onnthe right we didn't have nearly the same penetration on the left and their day would get much easier.

Not the case now. Davis looks more and more what we paid foe and Leigh looks like he can change games so one if them and Harness causing problems on one side plus JD, KVY and Burns the other there is real depth.

Steel in the middle ans Lee Evans looks like a different player. If we can cut down on the yips at the back we are really tough side to beat

Poll: Will Phil ever confirm we are actually close on a signing ever again

Davis was excellent yesterday and it was noticeable that he was picking people out in the box or on the edge, not just knocking it in to a dangerous area and hoping for the best.

He even declined a good crossing opportunity and turned back once when he felt there was no teammate to pick out. The wait for the run from KVY was quality.

I think the fact that the pitch didn't occupy anything like the amount of grass caught the wide players out a few times.Players were judging how much space they had by how far from the seats they were until they got used to it.

Poll: How many points do you think you'll need to get a ticket for Norwich?
