Do you think that if it wasn't for his health issues Dyer would be amongst the names being considered for the job?

How many managers can you name me have gone into a League 1 side and got them promoted with no prior first team managerial experience at any level, anywhere?

I genuinely don’t know, but you mention there are stacks, how many have come in and got promoted out of League 1? Neil Critchley is the only name I can think of.

Alf Ramsey.

I wouldn't have an issue with Dyer getting it to be honest, someone who has cut their teeth as a coach and who is a bit younger and bringing some fresh ideas may well be exactly what we need. He's played at the very highest level and knows what it takes to get there. My main worry would be his health and whether the stress of the job would be good for him right now, as well as the likelihood of him needing an extended absence at some point. Probably the wrong time for him at the minute.
