New contract for Gareth Ainsworth at Wycombe 16:41 - Feb 26 with 1321 viewsTractorCam

Supposedly a 2 year extension... what on earth does he have to do to get the hallowed 4 year deal?

When you consider the level we are at (meaning other clubs can't usually afford long contracts), Lambert's likely wage and the length of the deal, this has to be the most expensive managerial contract in the third tier of any football league EVER.

Genuinely. It has to be. Absolutely mad that we gave it to a bloke who was doing very poorly and just about meeting expectations but showing a massive downward curve!

Poll: How many points from 18 would Lambert need to have to actually be sacked?

Teach his team to play football because from what I’ve seen they’re nowhere near.

But they're above us with a smaller, less experienced, lower budgeted squad.

The question is though is this THE year for Wycombe? If they stay down this year, they could well finish in the bottom half next year.

Ainsworth will probably get a championship move in the summer when they don't go up, like Grant McCann did from Doncaster. Feel like this contract is there to set them up for good compensation.
