Oxford’s performance 18:06 - Feb 22 with 2157 viewsKeaneish

What did everyone make of them today? I thought they were a better and tidier version of Bristol Rovers but take Matty Taylor out of the side and they carry little to no threat. Marcus Browne looked decent in the middle, powerful and strong looking to carry the ball whenever he could which is what we lack.

As per the Kassam we played to Dickie and Moore’s strengths and made them look far better than they are.

Turned over by another average side due to our lack of composure and character in my opinion.

They were awful, the amount of times they gave the ball to us under zero pressure was astonishing. To lose to them just shows exactly where we are as a team.

Very lacklustre - disappointingly so considering who they have at their disposal but I guess the same should be said about us.

And yet the only real bit of quality today was their goal.

Their goal was classy.....our attempts made us look like a schoolboy team

Thought they were very average. Says more about us than them.

I can’t remember a single time when either Downes or Nolan got beyond Jackson or Keane. They hit the box a few times especially in the first half but need to do more especially as Keane comes so deep.

We seem to have lost the deep running CB on the left side now that Earl is there too.

Very average side. Bit like us. They created one very good chance and took it. No complaints about the goal at all from our perspective.

They were solid defensively, quick to close us down when near the box, but other than that they were nothing special.

I've come to the conclusion we aren't ready to go up. We can't beat any decent team in this league so what chance do we have in the league above.

Was Woolfenden caught out of position for the goal?

I thought they were OK. Well enough organised and a bit of a threat. Not as good as, say, Doncaster, and definitely not up with Peterborough.

Decent manager...

Possibly. They seemed to have an awful lot of time to score — the midfield didn’t seem to bother covering.

Wolfenden was a little suspect today, TBH.

Not sure what Nolan adds to our game....thought the same last week too.

They had a game plan, we didn’t.
They stuck to that plan, let us faff about looking pretty passing the ball sideways and backwards like we do.
We are like a bloke who’s had the snip trying to get his Mrs pregnant.
Loads of effort, no end product.
