8-4 down in the decisive Champions' tiebreak, but he wins 6 points in a row to go through. Millman bottled a couple of points, but that's why Federer's a champion & he isn't, I guess.

An Idiot asks....I thought a tie break was first to 7 with a 2 point lead required?

Have things changed??

Now that the Australian Open has adopted a tie-break at 6-6 in the final set, it is first to 10 points with a 2 point lead, rather than 7. Final set tie breaks were only introduced at the Australian Open in 2019.

The French Open is now the only one of the 4 Grand Slam events which still has no tie break in the final set in the singles.
Wimbledon now has a tie break in the final set if the games reach 12-12.
The US Open has long had a 5th set tie break at 6-6.
