“Much has been said of our rotation policy and I want to address this point. A key part of our strategy is to develop 22 players all challenging for every position on the pitch — no comfort zones". We do not have 22 players challenging for every position, we have / will have 22 players capable of covering every position. There is a huge difference. I believe that the / some players are, consciously or sub-consciously, underperforming on the basis that they know very well they are likely play in the next game, irrespective. If they were genuinely competing for a place would we see an improvement in performances and results? | |
