If Bolton hadn't started the season with a massive deficit then they would've got a points deduction for this. As it stands it's not worth giving them more as they are down anyway. Suspended sentence is about right imho . [Post edited 7 Jan 2020 21:01]

They are far from down, though they are 17 points adrift they do have three games in hand, a decent transfer window could see them eat up that deficit.
But anyway, it is pretty much beside the point whether Bolton get relegated or not, it is more that this sets one hell of a precedent for any team that doesn't want to play a game for any reason. | |

I think they are down, but the point is more the precedent. Now a similar situation can only be dealt with a similar punishment. However, the argument of a paper thin squad would have to be able to apply surely? |  |
