Thinking about replacing some windows and had a couple of salesmen round. The last was from Great Bentley and yes he was really proud of the village green, couldn't stop talking about it. In fact he seemed genuinely affronted when I said there were other places that claimed the biggest village green in the country, he wanted me to name names.

I had some DG sales guy round a few years ago. His windows seemed OK but he was also very proud of the coating on the glass that kept them clean. He carried a little test bottle with dirty water in it that when applied simply slid off the glass. I was impressed.
He told me that it would save me a fortune in window cleaning.
"How often do you clean your windows?" he asked.
"Give me a chance," I said. "I've only been living here for five years!"
He exchanged a glance with my missus to check whether I was joking, but her straight face assured him that I was not.
