Falling asleep at the match 11:11 - Dec 25 with 2579 viewsartsbossbeard

Anyone done this?

I've gone in hard with the champers early doors. It's a distinct possibility tomorrow.

I did once at a PR game when MM was I.C.
I don't know why the bloke sat next too me didn't notice- maybe he was asleep also?

Fulham away a couple of seasons ago after over-doing it slightly on the love boat down the Thames.

We lost 0-3, so I don’t think I missed much.

A Boxing Day match, don't remember when, but I seem to recall Jason Dozell getting a late winner. Could it have been against Blackburn?

Not sure it was champers, could have been Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

No. But under the dire MM years, several of us threatened to bring in a dart board to help pass the time.

Not me, but I was very ashamed when my best mate fell asleep vs Brentford in 2016 (Judge injury). We lost 1-3. Also I was very close to falling asleep vs QPR last year (0-2). That was one of the worst games I have watched at Portman Road.

Not at a match but had a little sleep watching Muse, AC/DC and Deep Purple. I have finally realised red wine isn't a good pre gig drink!!

That’s the one! Our aim was better and much more consistent though!

I used to get ridiculously nervous before any derby game (sigh, TWTD)

I did a couple of Temazepam before a game up at their place. I didnt fall asleep, but would wager I was easily the most relaxed person in the away end.

Micky Stockwell hit the post, and I remember thinking 'Ah, that's a shame'.

Not at a game but, as I live in Brisbane and the one or two am kick offs I have had a few long blinks between shots on goal Haha

On more than one occasion! Few beers and food before the game and it's a real struggle. Especially if it's cold and I have my hood up (supports the head and neck!) Normally wake up for a goal but miss the rest of the game.

I've had a brief champers-indused snooze at Lord's once during a particularly attritional piece of play.

Never at town though.

Mate who I go with managed to fall asleep for most of the Town / Wednesday horror show at the end of the PJ reign. I'm forever jealous because I'll never get that game out of my head.

I slept through virtually an entire game between Essex and Hampshire back in the late 90's. Hot summer day, heavy night, beer tent. It was the perfect storm.

To this day it is still the only cricket game I have attended.

Not the booze, just endless night shift at CAV

Slept surprisingly well considering the volume

When I was going to court for drunk at a sporting venue I googled the charge to look for previous examples. An Arsenal (?) Fan had come off the night shift gone for a few beers and then straight to the lunchtime kick off, they fell asleep and were charged and given a substantial fine.

I don't think they really bother with that charge these days though
