There's been some toing and froing around homelessness and poverty on here lately, but I can't find the threads. There seemed to be a bit of a mismatch between people saying poverty & homelessness hasn't increased despite obvious empirical evidence of rises in foodbank use, rises in poverty in the poorest households, etc. A new study out from Warwick Uni that sheds a bit more light on the matter. Fairly daming on central government - policies leading to massive increases in forced evictions, burdening councils. I thought it was quite enlightening and helps fill in a few gaps between the links between policy and some of the high profile impacts we see in the news.
