Are Ireland out of the Euro's then on 21:27 - Nov 15 with 1717 views | Chocorange | Nearly but not quite out. They could beat Denmark 7-0 in their last match or hope that Gibralter beat Switzerland in the other last fixture. Irish fans were vocal about Mick too defensive versus Georgia last time around.. Where they ended drawing ...
Are Ireland out of the Euro's then on 21:52 - Nov 15 with 1657 views | WorcesterParkBlue | No - for 2 reasons: 1) 1-0 win v Denmark on Monday will be enough to qualify - if level head to head trumps goal diff; 2) Even if they don't win, they are pretty much guaranteed a play off game via Nations League...

Wrong, beat Denmark and they’re in via head to head Far too much made of that Georgia draw being a bad one. A win would have made no difference as they’d still need to beat Denmark to qualify, whereas a defeat...

They played Switzerland in between and lost though. A win against Georgia would have made that game a very different proposition all together and could well have seen them qualify already. Don’t think too much has been made of it. I think the ROI fans are right to point to that game as the one which they should have approached differently to avoid this pressure in the final game.

But had they got a result in Switzerland the Georgia draw would have been irrelevant Beat Denmark at home and they’re in, fail and they’re not. Drawing rather than winning in Georgia (who have only lost at home twice in their last 15 games btw) makes absolutely no difference to that

So....they win 1-0 they'll go through at the expense of Denmark even though Denmark would be level on points and 13+ goals better off. Crazy.

Not crazy, the rules are that head to head trumps goal difference. I think it's a better way to decide when teams are level on points. I think this is the poorest Rep of Ireland side for many years, Mick has done well getting them to a situation where if they can grind out a 1-0 win they are through. Can't see it happening though as Denmark will open them up a few times during the game and will score at least once. As for the play-offs it's difficult to see Ireland winning two one off matches against sides like Wales or Slovakia, or even Northern Ireland who they could meet in a final.

Are Ireland out of the Euro's then on 08:21 - Nov 16 with 1155 views | Vaughan8 | The most telling thing is they only beat Gibratar 2-0 at home with one goal in the last few mins. That is poor when other teams wallop them! The Irish team isn't very good on paper, especially looks worse than Switzerland and Denmark. Could still qualify though as they seem to grind results out. Mick has done a decent job, though don't criticise anything or he gets the hump haha

It's Mick's fault that two people from Northern Ireland didn't get it on 25yrs ago to create the next Robbie Keane or Niall Quinn. Sack him, Clegg!
