My fridge died 19:38 - Nov 3 with 1651 views | sparks | It felt quite new but we think its probably about 9 years old now. Fridges used to live forever. Is this normal now? Anyone ever bothered repairing one or does the price usually end up being pointless? [Post edited 3 Nov 2019 19:42]

| The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it.

Or why there's a puddle on the floor every few days. I've just come to accept it. 9 years of neglect doesn't sound so bad when you think about it.

My fridge died on 20:14 - Nov 3 with 1566 views | Guthrum | Depends which bit has gone wrong. The motor and pump is usually a sealed unit, then you have the issue of not releasing the gas (and having to refill the system if you did). I'd have thought there must be people who do repairs, for commercial fridges and freezers.

My fridge died on 20:26 - Nov 3 with 1540 views | SpruceMoose | Sometimes it's just a fridge's time to go. Don't be sad though, it happens to them all. Eventually a fridge just hears the call and knows it's time to go home via white transit van to live forever more in the hedgerow of a country lane. [Post edited 3 Nov 2019 20:31]

Do they connect to your phone?? I was looking at some tumble driers online for my mum a few days ago and there are driers that can be controlled by your phone. I struggled to think of times when a tumble drier may need to be connected to a phone.

That's what everything's aimed at nowadays isn't it. Even bloody tumble driers. They can't leave us older types anything to ourselves anymore.

Time came to replace mine last month, ended up getting a new one about £200 cheaper than anywhere else I'd seen it. Good on delivery too.
