Is when Johnson wants his election - if Labour will let him.

It's an interesting strategy. He'll allow more time to get his deal through but only if a GE is approved, but then if his deal gets through then what's the rush for a GE as his main quarrel with parliament has been its inability to deliver on leaving the EU? Seems like he's pushing for a win/win scenario when he can't even buy a win.

Weird, his bill is improved in principle so why need an election? Surely more time to scrutinise is fair, why jepordise with a new Parliament?

Because he thinks getting his deal through will help him win a GE, which he needs to do some time anyway, having no majority in the House. Also, if he fails to get it through, he can blame that on the opposition and hopes to profit thereby.

Because, with violent DUP objection plus LibDem/SNP/Lab (mostly) hostility, his chances of passing the deal - especially unamended - are marginal at best.

Plus he thinks that it's his best chance of winning and can't do a lot besides, having no majority in the Commons.

Slightly surprising. Thought the combined opposition would want to inflict another (albeit symbolic since the FTPA2011) defeat.

He only comes up with plans designed to annoy MPs, doesn't he?

He really doesn't get how this stuff works - despite his eton education.

Labour can’t continue to vote against everything, otherwise we will keep going round in circles.

How will a GE change that ? there are 48% or more who will vote against Boris, we will get a split house and the same situation.

Referendum the way foward for me.

Tactically, Labour might prefer to force Johnson to expose his deal to amendments in the Commons and only then go for a GE.

Or they might want to trigger a Vote of No confidence and have an election at a time of their choosing.

JC is panicking and finding more tenuous reasons to delay both Brexit and an election.

The tories, lib dems, and SNP will go for an election as they will be the winners. Labour are boiled.

Be interesting to see what other reasons JC trips out for delaying an election. Wind direction, ITFC not top of the table, mushrooms to expensive in Aldi........

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Perhaps he doesn't want to play Johnson's games? It's rather ironic that the Tories are pushing for a third GE in under 5 years whilst simultaneously taking a position that a second referendum would be undemocratic.

I watch TV at the same time as I snortle over the TWTD posts.
And that's the second "Get ready for Brexit on Oct 31st" ad I've seen on the TV tonight.
I assume they've booked the ad slots so these will run until Oct 31st.
The sensible thing would be to pull these ads as soon as the EU gives us the extension.
What a waste of money.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
